US 29/74 (WILKINSON BLVD.), U-6146, GASTON COUNTY

The NCDOT plans to widen U.S. 29/74 (Wilkinson Boulevard) to six lanes between Market Street and Alberta Avenue in the Belmont/Gastonia area; the project also includes a new bridge over a south fork of the Catawba River in Gaston County.

Right-of-way acquisition is underway on this project, and construction is expected to begin in mid-2023.
