Yadkin Regional Water Supply Project

This joint project between Union County and the Town of Norwood encompasses construction of a new water intake and pump station, a water supply pipeline, a water treatment plant, and a drinking water pipeline. More information, including project maps, can be found at http://www.yadkinwater.com/.

• The Yadkin Regional Water Supply Project will ensure a long-term, sustainable water supply for current and future residents in the Yadkin River Basin.
• The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is currently completing its final review of the project’s permit to withdraw water from Lake Tillery.
• Construction can begin once FERC approves the permit and Duke Energy issues it.
